General Policies
- Our preschool division is a "co-op" during worship services. If your child attends regularly, you should plan to serve in our extended care for at least one worship service each month.
- Preschool leaders will be in their classrooms 15 minutes prior to service and function times.
- All children will need to be signed in by a parent upon arrival. The parent will receive a pager at that time. The procedures for our pager system are listed separately in this book.
- One parent should pick up his/her child immediately following services or functions.
- Please do not "look in" on your child. No child should have to endure two separations in one morning.
- All children cry sometimes when being left by parents. In most cases, crying stops a few minutes after you leave. If your child continues to cry, we will page you to return to the classroom.
- Diaper bags, clothing, bottles, cups, and any other personal items MUST BE LABELED with the child's full name.
- Do not allow your child to bring personal toys or other possessions unless it is a security item such as a blanket or pacifier.
- In order to insure the safety and health of the other children and the leaders, please refer to section containing our "Preschool Well Child Policy."
- Babies and Creepers will be promoted as they develop physically. Toddlers - Kindergarten will promote annually.
- For the safety of your child, the preschool staff cannot be responsible for special instructions unless they are in writing.
Clothing
- It is suggested that preschoolers be dressed in comfortable clothing. Children undergoing potty training should be dressed in clothing that is easy to take off and put on.
- All children who are either in diapers or being potty trained should have an extra change of clothes with them for all services.
Food
- Under normal circumstances, children in the Preschool Division are not to be fed any meals during Sunday School, Worship Services or functions lasting 3 hours or less. For safety reasons, preschool workers cannot mix formula for babies.
- Only plastic baby bottles should be sent for babies. Each bottle should be labeled with the child's name, content and the time to be given. (example: John Doe-apple juice at 10:00 a.m.)
- If your child has a food allergy or a special need related to food, please notify, in writing, the teacher in your child's classroom.
- Please do not give your child candy or gum before coming to class. It can be dangerous, and is very messy.
